India tourist visa issuance as well as sticker visa issuance is suspended until further notice due to the pandemic. If you have an emergency reason to travel to India please contact the nearest Indian Embassy directly.

Important: Applicants intending to tavel to India as tourists or visitors will be issued a visa with 6-month validity.

Tourist visas cannot be extended or converted.

India Tourist visa is required for citizens of Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Citizens of Afghanistan, China, Iran, Pakistan, Iraq, Sudan, Bangladesh,foreigners of Pakistani origin and stateless persons must allow at least 2 months between the entries to India.


Former citizens of India
Former Indian Nationals that have been Naturalized must provide copy of stamped Renunciation Form or Deemed Surrender Certifcate in order to apply.
1. For those naturalized before August 1, 2005 the Surrender Certificate is not required.
2. For those naturalized in the period between August 1, 2005 and May 31, 2010 the Surrender Certificate is not required. Those applicants are subject to an additional charge of 12.00 €.
3. For those naturalized after June 1, 2010 the Surrender Certificate is required. hose applicants are subject to an additional charge of 130.50 €.

• All regular (sticker) Visas/e-Visa (including VoA for Japan and South Korea) granted to nationals of Italy, Iran, South Korea, Japan and issued on or before 03.03.2020 and who have not yet entered India, stand suspended with immediate effect. Such foreign nationals may not enter India from any Air, Land or Seaport ICPs. Those requiring to travel to India due to compelling reasons, may seek fresh visa from nearest Indian Embassy/Consulate.

• Regular (sticker) visa / e-Visa granted to nationals of Peoples Republic of China, issued on or before 05.02.2020 were suspended earlier. It shall remain in force. Such Chinese nationals may not enter India from any Air, Land or Seaport ICPs. Those needing to travel to India under compelling circumstances may apply for fresh visa to nearest Indian Embassy/Consulate.

• Regular (sticker) visas/e-Visas granted to all foreign nationals who have travelled to Peoples Republic of China, Iran, Italy, South Korea and Japan on or after 01.02.2020, and who have not yet entered India stand suspended with immediate effect. Such foreign nationals may not enter India from any Air, Land or Seaport ICPs. Those requiring to travel to India under compelling circumstances may apply for fresh visa to nearest Indian Embassy/Consulate.

• Diplomats, officials of UN and other International bodies, OCI cardholders and Aircrew from above countries are exempted from such restriction on entry. However, their medical screening is compulsory.

• All foreign and Indian nationals entering into India from any port are required to furnish duly filled self declaration form (including personal particulars i.e. phone no. and address in India) and travel history, to Health officials and Immigration officials at all port.

• Passengers (foreign and Indian) other than those restricted, arriving directly or indirectly from China, South Korea, Japan, Iran, Italy, Hong Kong, Macau, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Nepal, Thailand, Singapore and Taiwan must undergo medical screening at port of entry.

To apply for a travel visa to India requires the following documents:

a
Original passport. The passport should be valid for at least 180 days and with two free pages.
b
Photo requirements. Biometric color photograph in Indian format 5 x 5 cm in front of a single-color light (white or light blue) background. Please ensure neck and shoulders are clearly visible.
c
Copy of passport. Photocopies of the main pages of the passport and those containing information on immigration travel, stamps and observations.
d
Registration certificate. Registration certificate proving that a residence has been in Germany for more than 12 months. If the proof of the place of residence can not be furnished, a supplementary form for non-German nationals must be completed and submitted.
e
Power of attorney. Signed form. Please complete the first and last line.
